Global Learning for Sustainability (GLS) with support from Women Win through FREE (Financial Resilience & Economic Empowerment) Fund is implementing a one -year project dabbed “Connecting Girls” with the main objective of building an entrepreneurial movement of Girls, and Young Women (GYW) advocating for their economic freedoms and rights to rise against patriarchal structures that oppress and inhibit GYW economic participation.
Lack of economic freedoms and poor access to economic opportunities is one of the barriers to Girls and women’s attainment of positive educational and health outcomes, including financial independence. The project builds on the gains, lessons and recommendation from Girls and Young Women advocates under the She Leads programme- a gender transformative programme in a consortium of CSOs working at national, Regional, and global level in partnership with FEMNET, PLAN ITNERNATIONAL & TDH Netherlands where GLS is an implementing partner at National Level.
The main objective of the She Leads programme is “sustained influence of Girls & Young Women in decision making” at all levels.
